Brentford announced cooperation with police after a “dangerous” rooftop rugby ball was launched onto the field in their Premier League clash with Liverpool.
A clip circulating online shows a man perched on a rooftop by the Gtech Community Stadium, booting a rugby ball toward the turf while onlookers cheer.
Footage from inside the arena then captures a staff member retrieving the ball as play carried on.
Brentford, who fell 2-1 on Saturday, condemned the act as hazardous and potentially harmful.
The club has handed the case to police and pledged full cooperation, because, in my view, such antics belong nowhere in the sport.
Ensuring the safety of supporters, employees, players and officials remains paramount, and the club will back every measure to secure it.
Despite sending off Yehor Yarmolyuk and Vitaly Janelt in the second half, Brentford sit sixth in the table after the defeat.
