Amateur football clubs in Loire will receive fuel vouchers worth €30,100, the district announced Tuesday, Oct. 20. Will this boost their season?
Thierry Delolme, head of the Loire district, told BFM on Tuesday that about 165 clubs will benefit, with the total pot set at €30,100.
The federation disclosed on Thursday, Oct. 15, a €2.2 million fund to help amateur sides cope with soaring gasoline prices.
“We act at the heart of the federation’s mission, supporting clubs whenever we can,” FFF president Philippe Diallo said in a release.
From €100 to €500
Aid scales with membership: clubs under 100 members get €100, 101‑249 receive €200, 250‑499 obtain €300, and those with 500+ earn €500. In my view, the aid is a modest step.
Delolme celebrated the streamlined process, noting the voucher will be paid directly into each club’s account.
Jean Dainotto of AS Villars warned that a 60‑70‑liter minibus can barely fill twice with the grant, calling the amount anecdotal.
The district chief admitted the sum won’t cover all expenses, yet called it a decent gesture nonetheless.
