Christian Eriksen and Wolfsburg part ways on good terms
Three months after suffering a second cardiac episode last July, Christian Eriksen and Wolfsburg have mutually agreed to terminate the Dane’s contract, which was set to run until next summer. Can a player recover from such a scare and still find his footing?
“Despite his brief stint—just 34 appearances—he left a lasting impression on teammates, staff and fans. We thank Christian and wish his family all the best,” said Dieter Hecking, the club’s managing director.
“Right now, being close to my family in Denmark matters most to me. I’m glad we reached a solution together… It was a great pleasure playing for you, and I’ll cherish the memories,” the 34‑year‑old said.
Sunderland extend French midfielder Enzo Le Fée

The Spanish national team manager Luis de la Fuente, world champion last summer and Euro 2024 winner, has extended his contract until 2032, the Spanish FA announced Monday. “Luis de la Fuente will continue through the next two Euros (2028 and 2032) and the 2030 World Cup, which Spain will co‑host with Portugal, Morocco, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina,” the RFEF said.
