Thrilling 3-3 Napoli vs Roma with Bicycle Kick

Thrilling 3-3 draw between Napoli and Roma featuring a bicycle kick at the Diego Armando Maradona stadiumNapoli and Roma drew 3-3 at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium in a match defined by two key figures.

Napoli and Roma left the Diego Armando Maradona stadium locked in a pulsating 3-3 stalemate. Who could have guessed the showdown would pivot on Scottish midfielder McTominay and Argentine defender Balerdi? Napoli, chasing three points, surged to 2-0 and then 3-2, yet failed to hold the edge, settling for a solitary point.

Roma arrived hungry, still in the hunt for the league crown and buoyed by a recent Champions League win.

In the first half Napoli dominated, rewarding its pressure with Zambo Anguissa’s spectacular bicycle kick in the 28th minute. Roma flirted with equality when Cristante smashed a header onto the post before the break. After the interval, McTominay restored Napoli’s lead with a towering header in the 48th minute.

Matías Soulé sparked the comeback at 70’, and four minutes later Leonardo Balerdi, fresh from the bench, equalised for Roma. The Argentine defender seized a loose ball in the box, forcing a draw and exposing Napoli’s loss of control. In my view, Balerdi’s impact proved the decisive factor.

When Napoli seemed down, McTominay struck again in the 83rd minute to make it 3-2, only for Balerdi to head the equaliser and seal a 3-3 finish. The veteran coaches Allegri and Gasperini witnessed a clash of wills, leaving Napoli with a taste of victory and Roma showing relentless resilience. Will next week’s encounter see one side finally break this deadlock?
