Mourinho on Atletico‑Barcelona: “I’d like them both to lose”

Jose Mourinho, manager of Real Madrid, said he would love “them both to lose” in the Atletico Madrid‑Barcelona clash, the league’s top two, next Sunday, during the pre‑match press conference before his side heads to Valencia.

I’d love them both to lose, it’s not realistic. It’s a simple match because someone drops points. This weekend we know one or both will slip up. Honestly, I don’t care, he added.

The only way the Atletico‑Barcelona result helps Real Madrid is if Madrid first snags three points in Valencia – a task far from easy. For my money, Madrid must win there.
