Boca stormed into the Sudamericana final after a 3‑1 win over Vasco da Gama in Brazil. A day later Atlético Mineiro, who had taken the first leg 3‑0, fell 2‑0 to Montevideo City Torque yet still booked its place for the showdown on Saturday, 21 November, in Barranquilla, Colombia.

The upcoming final promises fireworks between two continental powerhouses. Cicinho added the spice, the former Brazil right‑back who starred for Galo and later dazzled at Real Madrid, Roma and Villarreal among others.
The Galo entered the match with the result in hand and knew how to manage it, Cicinho said on Jogo Aberto. He noted the red card made things tougher, yet the counter‑attack offered a clear chance to score; a bit more pressure could have changed the game, as he observed back in Brazil.
He concluded, “The qualification was earned, and now we face Boca, a worthy foe; but Atlético Mineiro is far more of a team than Boca.” Cicinho wore the Galo jersey in 2001 at the start of his career.
