TV, grupos y calendario completo para Deportivo Cali y Santa FeLa decimoctava edición de la Copa Libertadores Femenina comenzará este jueves (15 de octubre) en Quito con la participación de 16 equipos de 10 países y...

The 18th Women’s Copa Libertadores kicks off Thursday, 15 October, in Quito, featuring 16 teams from 10 nations. Brazil still dominates with 14 titles, and defending champs Corinthians enter as favorites with six crowns.

Colombia’s representatives are Deportivo Cali and Independiente Santa Fe, the champion and runner‑up of the 2026 Women’s League.

The tournament runs in Ecuador from 15 to 31 October.

Besides Corinthians, Brazil has lifted the trophy three times with São José, twice with Santos and Ferroviária, and once with Palmeiras.

Only three clubs have broken Brazil’s hold: Chile’s Colo Colo in 2012, Paraguay’s Sportivo Limpeño in 2016, and Colombia’s Atlético Huila in 2018.

Guided by coach Emily Lima, Corinthians will chase a seventh title. The Timão lands in Group A and opens against Colo Colo on Thursday.

Brazil’s attack boasts top scorer Gabi Zanotti, who netted five goals in 2024 and six in 2025, supported by defender Mariza and midfielder Duda.

When Corinthians play their 46th tournament match Thursday, Colo Colo will notch its 53rd appearance – the most in the competition – under Brazilian coach Tatiele Silveira.

2022 champions Palmeiras open Group B against Peru’s Universitario, alongside Ecuador’s Independiente del Valle and Argentina’s Belgrano.

The Colombian sides Deportivo Cali and Santa Fe aim to avenge Corinthians, who bested them in the 2025 and 2024 finals respectively. For my money, their revenge could reshape the tournament.

Santa Fe meets Brazil first in the group stage, but kicks off Thursday against Caracas in Group A’s opening match.

Deportivo Cali will chase the title that slipped away in 2025 after a 5‑3 penalty loss to Corinthians following a goalless draw, debuting Friday versus Paraguay’s Libertad. Uruguay’s Nacional and Chile’s Universidad de Chile round out Group D.

Hosts Independiente del Valle start against Atlético Belgrano, while Liga de Quito opens Group C versus Cruzeiro, joined by Bolívar and Olimpia.

How will the Copa Libertadores Femenina be contested? Will the new format produce more upsets?

The group stage features four zones of four teams each. Every club plays the other three once, and the top two from each zone advance to the quarter‑finals.

From there, single‑match knockouts decide the new champions of South America. With groups set, all 16 entrants know their starting point on the road to eternal glory.
