Katsuragawa Leads Genesis Championship After Record‑tying 63

Genesis Championship: Yuto Katsuragawa holds a two‑stroke lead entering final day with a record‑tying 63.Katsuragawa leads Genesis Championship after matching the course record.

Can you imagine a Japanese star leading by two strokes? Yuto Katsuragawa will take a two‑stroke lead into the final day of the Genesis Championship after tying the course record on Saturday.

The 28‑year‑old carded a flawless eight‑under 63 in round three at Woo Jeong Hills, opening with four birdies in his first five holes to equal Jinam Kang’s 2006 mark.

He sits at 13 under par overall, two strokes ahead of South Africa’s Casey Jarvis.

Jarvis, eyeing a third victory of the 2026 season after February wins at the Kenya Open and South African Open, hopes to breach the top three in the Race to Dubai behind Eugenio Chacarra, Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy.

Reed and McIlroy sit out this week. In my view, Chacarra, who leads the standings after his Indian triumph, fell back to a tie for 30th, ten shots off the lead.

Only two tournaments remain on the European Tour calendar: Abu Dhabi followed by Dubai.
