Robin Fellhauer shattered the Bundesliga timing book, scoring in just under nine seconds versus Bayern Munich on Saturday.
The drama deepened when Bayern kicked off, with Harry Kane sending a long ball straight back to Manuel Neuer.
Neuer tried a soft touch, then attempted to loft the ball over the charging Fellhauer, but the midfielder cut in, seized the pass and slotted home the record‑breaking strike.
For my money, Fellhauer’s poise in that split second shows why he belongs among the league’s elite. “I didn’t even realise it until the first break, when Gregor ran over and said, ‘Congrats, you’re buying the drinks now,’” Fellhauer told the Bundesliga at full time.
Now the reality is sinking in, he said, describing the feeling as indescribable and believing the record will stand for a long time.
The former nine‑second mark was shared by Kevin Volland, who netted against Bayern for Hoffenheim in 2015, and Karim Bellarabi, who scored for Bayer Leverkusen versus Borussia Dortmund in 2014.
