Joe Burrow clarifies that “funny” comments were not directed at Bengals after loss to Ravens.

Joe Burrow clarifies that "funny" comments were not directed at Bengals after loss to Ravens.

Burrow certainly didn’t look like he was having a good time Sunday, on a bitterly cold day in Cincinnati. The star QB completed 25 of 39 passes for 225 yards with zero touchdowns and two INTs for a career-low 58.2 passer rating. Both of Burrow’s interceptions brought the Bengals inside the Ravens’ 30-yard line, including a pick-6 that ended a home run threat.

After Burrow said he played close to perfect in last week’s loss to Buffalo, he pitched one of the saddest outings of his career against Baltimore.

“I think it’s one of the worst games I’ve ever played,” Burrow said. “I’m honest with myself and my game, and I hold myself to a high standard, and today didn’t come close to that.”

Last time a Joe Burrow-led team was shutout: 2018 at LSU vs. Alabama.

The offense as a whole was disjointed, but Burrow, who took three sacks, wanted to shoulder a lot of the blame.

“Bad football teams lose things, and if you want to compete for championships and make the playoffs, No. 1, your quarterback has to play better than I did today,” Burrow said.
