His exposure to the season was limited and was not exactly inspiring-Fields finished 4 for 9 for 46 meters, including rough 1 of 5 shows against Giants-en Mougey has seen enough in practice to believe that Fields, the newly named captain, is on the right track.
“I’ve seen him recover every day – especially last week,” Mougey said. “I think we’ve really seen a good rhythm in training with the offense – a balanced attack, some runs, some go, but just the overall operation, the command, its leadership. … so see that growth has been very good.”
A new stop in its NFL trip means yet another offensive system (and manager) for fields to learn. Fortunately, he has had the most of 2025 to achieve it. According to the new and Tanner English, Fields is in a good location with the system that comes in during a normal period.
“I really appreciate where Justin is with Dopback Passing Concepts,” said an offensive manager of Tanner Engstrand’s Tanner Strand. “He understands what we are trying to do. He understands what we are trying to attack, where the ball needs to go, and I think every day we are showing progress from Justin.”
Forward progress is subjective and sensitive to confirmation bias, especially for new staff who want to find their foothold, but it is better than the option. The actual exams come with the beginning of a normal period. We will see if Fields can prove its coach correctly.
