Kuwaiti athletes captured all three podium spots in Cairo’s Special Olympics equestrian events.
CAIRO, Sept. 21 – Riders from Kuwait’s Al‑Tamouh Club for Athletes with Intellectual Disabilities dominated the Category C English riding contest at the 10th Special Olympics MENA Regional Games.
Nawaf Al‑Qassar took gold, Maryam Theyab earned silver and Abdullah Al‑Ali secured bronze, delegation deputy head Sadiqa Al‑Ansari told KUNA.
Basma Al‑Bsaily also entered the show‑jumping round, but her horse missed three obstacles, earning her a participation ribbon.
Al‑Ansari is confident the team will keep delivering strong results and thanked Kuwait’s government, its embassy in Egypt, the Public Authority for Sport and the athletes’ families for their backing.
