Healthy Panthers CB Jaycee Horn realizes potential: 'I should have made the Pro Bowl every year'

In his first Pro Bowl campaign in 2024, Horn had a career-best 68 tackles, 13 passes defensed and two sacks. Last season, he helped the NFC South champion Panthers reach their first playoff berth since 2017 – the first of Horn’s career.

The uplifting year ended with a bitter 34-31 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round, but Horn and Co. left with a foundation to build on and every reason to believe better autumns were ahead.

“Obviously you’re upset when you lose a playoff game at home and it was a tough last-second loss,” he said. “But when you sit back and just look at where we were, as a guy like me, my rookie year, and the years after that, to see how far we got, this last season was definitely a win to get to the playoffs, but we can make that next level and I think we will.”

After starting his career with such controversial times, Horn knows that success is not instantaneous, but he has realized that and he is ready for more.

“I’ve been healthy the last two years, gone to two Pro Bowls, and now I’m just trying to keep it going and maybe just keep collecting them year after year after year,” he said. “Maybe I can make it, and I won’t even think about the hat trick I missed before. But yeah, I know it’s just still a blessing to be in this league and make money playing a child’s game.”
