Dolphins GM Chris Grier admits that Miami goes through "reset" after many years of spending: "It's just not sustainable"

Miami Dolphins chief executive Chris Grier acknowledged on Wednesday that his company was in the middle of financial resetting after spending a big time last season.

“Every year is different,” he said through the official copy of the team. “We have had many years here as it has been all draft focused for a few years and then at some point you need to reset. When you go and you do aggressive movement as we had done for a few years, you need to reset and start it.”

Grier said the directive did not come from owner Stephen Ross, but was in response to expenses in recent periods.

This dissatisfaction, after many years of high expenses, traded the dolphins Jalen Ramsey, Jonnu Smith, the starry sky, Jonnu Smith, who was looking for a rise, to Pittsburgh for Minkah Fitzpatrick. During the latest Free -Foundation period, Miami kept quiet and watched the security of Jevon Holland sign in New York. In recent years, they have also lost Robert Hunt, Christian Wilkins, Andrew van Ginkeland others where they have gone younger, especially in college.

“It’s just not sustainable how the contracts are with players and what they are doing now,” Grier continued. “So in terms of directive, no; for us, this was just a good business feeling to work through it and try to find value, but we also had to become younger, so we added younger players. As a year ago, we were one of several teams with all one -year veterinary agreements and stuff, so we are in the other place.

Dolphin’s financial restart is not different from the San Francisco 49ers in this dissatisfaction – albeit Miami got less attention for “reset”.

When genetically modified organisms talk about reset and become younger, it is often associated with rebuilding. Greir demanded that his “reset” simply be from business elements and he still expected the company to compete to break the victorious streak that stretches back to 2000.

“In terms of resetting, it was just talking about money philosophy and spending and stuff, but as I told you, we always wanted to try to work this season. It’s all about working in 2025,” he said.

In the fourth game of coach Mike McDaniel at the helm, the pressure for Miami is to get over the playoff game, or any other change might be OK. The coach’s task is more challenging by Offseason, where the head office spent less to reset the operation.
