Chiefs QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) returns for Week 14 game against Vikings

Daniels missed just three games after suffering what appeared to be a gruesome injury and left the game in the lurch.

It’s been an injury-riddled season for the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year. Daniels missed games earlier this season with knee and thigh injuries. In all, the sophomore quarterback started six of 12 contests heading into Sunday’s game. Washington is 2-4 with Daniels as the starter and 1-5 with Marcus Mariota under center.

The Chiefs have lost seven straight (Weeks 6-13) after starting the 2025 season 3-2, tied for the NFL’s longest active losing streak (Titans and Giants also have 7).

Daniels’ return comes as Washington’s injured crew is finally on the mend. With receiver Terry McLaurin and guard Samuel Cosmi back in recent weeks, and WR Noah Brown (groin/knee) expected to be back in action, Sunday would mark the first time all season Washington has a starting QB, top three receivers and full starting offense in action.

Unfortunately, it’s likely to be too late for Washington to jump into the fray. At 3-9, the Chiefs have less than a 1% chance of making the playoffs, according to Next Generation Stats.
