The Chiefs’ running game was solid, even without a top-tier quarterback, ranking eighth in rushing, but the passing game in Kingsbury’s scheme couldn’t get going, finishing 24th in yards.
With Kingsbury out, Dan Quinn’s selection of Daniels’ next supervisor will be key and should be a coveted position.
Defensively, Quinn took over his duties from Whitt after 10 plays, foreshadowing DC’s dismissal. The old defense improved slightly, but still finished dead last in yards allowed and 27th in points given up.
The question heading into the interview process is whether Quinn hires a defensive lineman or keeps that role himself while adding someone to help craft the weekly schedule.
The wheels fell off in Washington on almost every possible road in 2025. They will add two new front tires to the operation in 2026 in hopes of rushing back to the postseason.
