Week 9 is Arizona’s bye, meaning Murray will be able to fully rest after suffering an injury in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans.
Since taking him first overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Cardinals are 4-15 when Murray doesn’t start. However, Brissett led Arizona to its best stat outing of the season in Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts. Along with 400 yards rushing on the season, the Cardinals also tied their season best in points, but it wasn’t enough in a 31-27 loss – their fourth straight, all by four points or fewer.
Cool, smart and up to the task, Brissett was a reliable veteran off the bench against the Colts, throwing for 320 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and completing 61.4% of his passes. It was his first 300-yard passing game since Week 11 of the 2022 season with the Cleveland Browns.
On Sunday, Brissett is aiming for another great performance and a much better final result.
The Cardinals (2-4) host the Packers (3-1-1) at 4:25 PM ET on Sunday.
