Cook made it known shortly after the end of last season that he wanted to get a contract in the range of $ 15 million a year. Such a deal would be comparable to Derrick Henry, Ravens and behind 49ers Christian McCaffrey and Eagles’ Saquon Barkley, an average of $ 19 million and $ 20.6 million a year.
The bills reached others over offseason, such as Cornerback Christian Benford and defense Gregory Rousseau, but did not get anything with Cook over the goal line.
July 24 said Cook was focused on the period 2025 and stated that the contract would eventually happen – “wherever it happens.” Brandon Beane’s chief executive spoke the day before these comments, saying he loves Cook and the team wants to sign his home -working talent, but also acknowledged that it was a “business” to do everything that fits the cap.
Cook (and answers) Sunday indicates that he is taking another approach to doing such a business, but Cook has played the ball so far. It is left to reveal whether his sitting exercise on Sunday turns into a prolonged hold.
If that happens, Buffalo needs to weigh and evaluate their potential while they continue as far as Camp Ramp-up carries RBS like Ray Davis and Ty Johnson.
Bill’s head coach Sean McDermott also announced before practicing broadly receiver Khalil Shakir (high ankle spray) and Maxwell Hairston in the first round (knee spray) are both counted a week to a week, so hits were certainly coming.
The bills will hold their next practice on August 4, with three meetings in total for their first game for the season against Giants 9 August.
