Seahawks quarterback Zach Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL in Seattle’s 41-6 division win over the 49ers and will miss the rest of the playoffs, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday.
Head coach Mike Macdonald originally told Seattle Sports. Brock and salt of Charbonnet’s significant knee injury and indicated that he will undergo surgery.
Charbonnet, who had five carries for 20 yards in Saturday’s contest, was injured in the second quarter and did not return to action.
Macdonald had expressed optimism about Charbonnet’s injury immediately after the win, but further tests have revealed the bruiser will miss the rest of the finals with a long road to recovery ahead of him.
Charbonnet, part of a 1-two backfield with Kenneth Walker III, rushed for 730 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, both career highs. Walker will now lead the rushing attack into the NFC Championship Game against the Rams after a 145-yard, three-touchdown performance.
About the NFL will have more shortly.
