After leaving a lot to run back Christian McCaffrey in the team’s game in the first half, Bourne’s role was particularly important in the second half. He received seven of his 10 receptions after a break and helped San Francisco move the football even after Los Angeles had enough time to adjust.
Based on how well Jones and Bourne played together, the average viewer could believe that this was the team’s best team manager in San Francisco and not cooperation on copies that resulted in the most needed. “Mac is just, he has built properly. His spiritual is the right way,” said Bourne. “He prepares the right way. I’ve seen it for some time. I’m just proud of him, a man. … you can say he’s safe and stuff like that.
“It’s just wonderful to see him in this space. How I saw him in New England was another world for him. So to see him now, with peace he has, he is playing free and entertaining me. I think it’s a big part of the game for him and it appears.”
Jones has officially started more games in 2025 than Brock Purdy, team manager, and improved 3-0 as San Francisco’s starting team this season. He registered the second most games and played in a game on Thursday night and pushed his total for six and equalized with Jim Plunkett for the biggest player of the 49ers player in his first three games with the team.
Bourne tied during his career high for the reception on Thursday night. Their combined efforts forced the 49ers to upset victory in a game that was most to think about could be in the favor of Rams.
Instead, the 49ers flew home as NFC West leaders after five games.
