Skylar Thompson, Steelers, jumping, robbed in Dublin; QB suffers from minor injuries

Skylar Thompson, team manager of Pittsburgh Steelers, was jumped and robbed on Friday night in Dublin, Ireland, ahead of Pittsburgh 4 against Minnesota Vikings, according to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero on Sunday morning, according to sources.

Thompson, who is on the injured reserve, suffered minor injuries but is OK and with the team, Pelissero added.

“We are aware of situations that involve Skylar Thompson on Friday night in Dublin,” Steelers spokesman told Pelissero. “We will not receive any further comments at this time as we are working with NFL security to obtain further information on the incident.”

Thompson, 28, is in his fourth season in NFL and his first in Pittsburgh. Thompson was placed on IR with injuries to Hamstring September 10.

Steelers Vikings game Sunday is the first game in the NFL in the usual season played in Ireland. It is another of seven international games that will be played this season.

Pittsburgh and Minnesota leave at 9:30 am from Croke Park on NFL Network.
