Mitchell blew his feet quickly in 2024. He started the first two Colts games of the season, but he failed to find the final area of the year and ended with 312 meters in 23 receptions. Although he appeared in all 17 competitions, he started only five more over the first two weeks and had 12 games with one of the fewer receptions.
As the receiver as the greatest property at this point in his young career is speed, it makes sense that it could take time for Mitchell to adapt to the NFL game where he works on professional preparation and sharp route. For what it is worth, OC has noticed a hit in the booth.
“He has done a really good job with a play,” Cooter said. “Last week he has had a lot of opportunities, like all these recipients. Sometimes you get some more, you get a few less every week. The numat ads have been called several times and the team manager has looked over some extra time and he has taken advantage of these things.”
Mitchell also believes he has taken a step, something that can only help Colts when they hold their team leader competition between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones.
“I knew it would eventually come together,” Mitchell said. “I know my hands work, I know my ways work. It was all just a matter of time.”
Never short in confidence, Mitchell also talked about his ability against one person in consideration: “I knew I belonged. I knew that if someone leaves me one-on-man on the island, then someone will regret it and it won’t be me. So just like my game, know where to be.”
If convenience actually leads to Mitchell productivity, he could push his way into the starting lineup in excess of composo only in 2025.
