Chicago Bears will honor two election rights to their games this season.
Chicago announced on Friday that it will sports jersey patch that honored the late team owner and Matriarch Virginia Halas McCskey in the 2025 campaign.
McCskey, who died on February 2, 102 years old, will let its initials appear prominent on the left chest on Bears shirts and will start with next week against Dolphins. The patch is almost designed for Chicago wore in the period 1983 when Hall of Famer George Halas, founder of Bears and McCskey’s father, died.
“We thought it would be appropriate if her patch reflected her dad from 1983,” said George McCskey, owner of the team, Virginia’s son, on the team’s website. “So it’s the same size, the same color scheme. The only thing that is different is of course the initials. We thought it was right to do.”
Bears will also honor Virginia Halas McCskey by not having alternates or throwback jerseys during the period 2025.
