Miami Heat striker Haywood Highsmith will have a new look this season as he is switching from no. 24 in no. 8 for his Jersey number.
Heat released the news on social media and contained an explanation from Highsmith, which stated that his old jersey number is equivalent to his New Jersey number when his old number numbers are multiplied. He also explained that it was cool for him to be able to leave no. 24 to no. 8 because these were the two NBA icons Kobe Bryant wore Los Angeles Lakers.
Removal of Highsmith in no. 8 will also allow Norman Powell Norman Powell to stick to no. 24, which he has carried all his NBA career.

For some reason, Heat Big Man Bam Adebayo had something to say in the comment section.

It is unclear that Adebayo launched the message, but he could just have pushed his teammates in good fun.
Highsmith and Adebayo will both be a key factor for the Heat in the coming season as the team tries to get back on track. Last season was one to forget Miami where the team ended below .500 and was embarrassed in the finals.
Highsmith has proven itself as a legitimate NBA contribution with the heat. In four seasons with the team, he has averaged 5.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while he is called in the defense.
At the same time, Adebayo has become a star with the heat, even though he does not have his best year in the 2024-25 campaign. Since entering the NBA, he has earned three all-stars of tugs and five choices of all defense while he often ended up in the defense player of the year.
Although the heat is currently sailing as some fans are not extremely safe towards the team, Highsmith and Adebayo are both fine success stories for the right to vote and with all luck, they will help Miami get closer to the championship title in the near future.
For a while, a winning season seems like a good goal for the team in the 2025-26 campaign and hopefully it could also be in play.
