“We have to be better forced takeaways,” Bowen said. “Got to get the ball away. Twelve of the 14 playoff games were in the upper division and took the ball away.
“We have to do a better job with it and make sure we don’t miss the opportunity to get them when they are there, don’t miss out on opportunities to try to attack the ball when they are there, which match the hand, whatever it might be. This is a big focus area for us now.”
Having their defense or talking or celebrating like pirates is certainly a palm, but to come from such difficulties as seen last year, Bowen seems to be anything.
It also seems like he might be in the hot seat, but he said he wasn’t worried about job security.
“I wouldn’t say pressure,” Bowen said. “I am fired by the boys. My job is to make these boys ready to go there to perform at the highest level, maximize their potential and perform and finally work.”
Creating a transition would certainly be a step in victory.
