Chiefs RB finished goal in mind: ‘Return to 216, 4.37 Isiah Pacheco-style’

Chiefs RB finished goal in mind: 'Return to 216, 4.37 Isiah Pacheco-style'

Pacheco started last season with 15 transport in week 1 and 19 in week 2 before suffering from a foot.

When he returned, he never darkened 14 rush attempts and he only collected 175 meters without points in his last five games in the usual season. Pacheco’s bomb and efficiency was broken. KC clearly noticed it – the team did not hand him more than five times in any of their three games.

After having an average of 4.7 meters per chance in its first two seasons, Pacheco completed 2024 with a 3.7 YPC mark.

It does not necessarily come as a surprise. A member who returns Tony Pollard suffered similar injuries in January 2023 and needed surgery such as Pacheco. He did not appear to be fully back in the end of the aftermath with the cowboys until his last month in games, and it was in full recovery. Pacheco jumped back on the field under 10 weeks.

Still, it is an important year for both Chiefs and Pacheco. Kansas City has returned to Chase Mode after spending the last two seasons defending the Super Bowl Masters; Pacheco is entering the final year of his newcomer contract.

Both would benefit from the age of 26 to get back to their signature style, run angry with the ground and angry to be tackles that dare to object to him.

Through the rosy glasses in June, he seems to be ready to do that.

“He has put a few pounds of good weight,” said Andy Reid head coach about Pacheco. “He got a little down last year and leaned up. But you, I think he looks tremendously out now.”

How Pacheco looks in September and will continue to play a key role in Kansas City, which returns to the mountain top.
