Trey McBride of the Cardinals sets a new single-season receiving record

Sunday was McBride’s eighth game of the season with eight plus catches. The 26-year-old is headed to his second Pro Bowl after recording his second consecutive 1,000-yard season. Before Sunday’s game, McBride’s 10 touchdowns had eclipsed his previous three-year career high (6).

McBride’s 111 catches in 2024 previously ranked fourth all-time, proof that he is quickly becoming a historically brilliant tight end. His 117 catches and counting this year are tied for 26th all-time with Torry Holt (2003; St. Louis Rams), regardless of position.

One huge boon for McBride this year has been his chemistry with Brissett, who filled in mid-year for the injured Kyler Murray.

Who will be the quarterback for the Cards in 2026 is one of the many big questions that must be answered this offseason in Arizona. One problem the franchise doesn’t have is at tight end; that’s a record in a row right there.
