Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield as Alexander Isak struck the winner, just four minutes after Pascal Gross’ own‑goal put the hosts ahead.

Below are my ratings alongside yours.

Alisson: Had no saves in the first half but nearly erred when Yasin Ayari rattled the post after a careless pass. He’ll relish the clean sheet. 7

Ronald Araujo: Displayed strength in the build‑up to the opening goal and remained solid at the back. His near‑miss was saved. 7

Jeremy Jacquet: Another steady showing; calm with the ball and delivered key blocks. 7

Virgil van Dijk: Returned to form after a shaky midweek, securing another Premier League shut‑out. 7

Milos Kerkez: Faced a tough duel with Diego Gomez but helped a backline that kept Brighton at bay. 6

Ryan Gravenberch: Worked tirelessly, especially as Liverpool ceded possession. 7

Alexis Mac Allister: One of Liverpool’s top performers this season; despite a few loose passes, his display was encouraging. 7

Bradley Barcola: Created the assist for Isak and troubled Olivier Boscagli all afternoon. For my money, he was the most impactful. 8

Florian Wirtz: Played with confidence, forcing the own‑goal from Gross and troubling Brighton throughout before exiting after treatment. 8

Cody Gakpo: Constant threat on his less‑favoured foot, two shots saved, unlucky to miss an assist. 7

Alexander Isak: Simple finish at the right moment for his sixth straight Premier League goal. Not yet at peak, but Iraola will be pleased. 7

Subs:

Nyoni (on 65, Wirtz): Immediate solid challenge; the youngster seems to improve weekly. 7

Ngumoha (on 77, Barcola): N/A

Koumas (on 77, Isak): N/A

Tsimikas (on 88, Kerkez): N/A

Subs not used: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Endo, Chiesa, McConnell.

Bart Verbruggen: Made good first‑half saves but was beaten by the deflection for the opener and had no chance on Isak’s strike. 5

Ferdi Kadioglu: Left the field injured in the sixth minute, clutching his hip. 5

Luka Vuskovic: Part of a defence that hadn’t conceded since 16 September; the 19‑year‑old looked comfortable on the ball. 6

Lewis Dunk: Matched Vuskovic’s effort, yet Brighton’s backline fell to Liverpool’s relentless pressure. 5

Olivier Boscagli: Lost possession for the second goal, struggled against Barcola, booked for a foul and was replaced at halftime. 4

Pascal Gross: Could have assisted Ayari, but his clearance fell to Wirtz and the ensuing shot deflected off him for the own‑goal. 5

Chema Andres: Comfortable on the ball, tidy in possession, but suffered a knock and left early in the second half. 6

Diego Gomez: Delivered a lovely through ball to Gross for Ayari’s chance and linked well with Joao Costinha. 7

Yasin Ayari: Missed a big chance at 0‑0, then hit the post with a strong effort in the first half. 6

Maxim de Cuyper: Quiet first half, shifted to left‑back after Jack Hinshelwood replaced Boscagli. 5

Charalampos Kostoulas: Frequently involved, offered options, yet failed to pose a serious threat to Alisson. 6

Costinha (on 6, Kadioglu): Came early, linked well with Gomez forward but struggled to contain Gakpo. 6

Hinshelwood (on 46, Boscagli): Performed well after entering but couldn’t revive Brighton’s fortunes. 6

Yalcouye (on 54, Andres): Had limited touches after coming on. 5

Rutter (on 75, Ayari): N/A

Subs not used: Steele, Hadjam, Rutter, David, Osman, O’Riley.
