Freiburg also introduced five fresh faces after their Conference League loss in Monaco. Philipp Treu, Philipp Lienhart, Patrick Osterhage, Derry Scherhant and Lucas Höler earned spots, pushing Max Rosenfelder, Christian Günter, Vincenzo Grifo and Igor Matanović to the bench. Yannik Engelhardt missed out with an injury.

First‑half brace gives Bayern control
The hosts challenged Bayern early, but a 16th‑minute strike changed the game. Dayot Upamecano collected the ball near his own box, linked with Olise and calmly finished past goalkeeper Mio Backhaus. The early pressure showed Bayern’s depth is finally clicking.
As the half wound down, Gnabry exchanged a one‑two with Brown and slipped a composed finish past Backhaus for his 100th league goal. Bayern appear poised to defend the lead for the remainder of the season.

Freiburg rally but Olise has final say

Bayern continued to dominate possession after the restart and went close to extending their advantage through Harry Kane, who sent a close-range header over the crossbar, and substitute Ismael Saibari, who was denied by Backhaus from a tight angle.
However, Freiburg pulled a goal back out of nothing when Grifo’s low cross was turned into his own net by Tom Bischof – a goal which breathed life back into the contest. The home side threw caution to the wind after that, and almost restored parity when Matthias Ginter’s late header was kept out by Urbig.
But Bayern – and Olise – had the final say as Backhaus surrendered possession inside this own half, allowing the winger to roll the ball into the unguarded net to seal a hard-fought win.
