The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to bring back a familiar face to their coaching staff.
The Chiefs are set to hire Eric Bieniemy as their next offensive coordinator, NFL Networks insider Tom Pelissero reported Monday.
Bieniemy, who coached the Bears’ quarterbacks in 2025 after stints at UCLA (2024) and the Commanders (2023), previously worked with head coach Andy Reid in Kansas City for 10 seasons. He served as the Chiefs’ running backs coach from 2013 to ’17 before taking over as offensive coordinator in 2018 (Patrick Mahomes’ first season as a full-time starter), a role he held through the 2022 season.
Matt Nagy, who replaced Bieniemy as OC in 2023, had his contract expire after the 2025 season. Nagy has been a popular candidate for this month’s head coaching job and was not expected to return to KC
