Steelers snap NFL record 22nd straight undefeated season; 19. led by Mike Tomlin

The 53-year-old Tomlin is the league’s longest-tenured head coach, having taken over the Steelers in 2007 and has yet to experience a losing season, going 8-8 (when the league had a 16-game season) three times (2012-13, 2019) and registering a shutout in each of the other campaigns.

Individually, Tomlin has now tied Bill Belichick for the second-longest streak without a losing season. Belichick had 19 straight points from 2001-2019 with the New England Patriots, with Belichick and Tomlin each trailing Landry’s 21.

For Tomlin, it was also his 200th career win as a coach, including a playoff game. He is the third youngest coach to reach this milestone.

Introducing himself to Steelers tradition, quarterback Aaron Rodgers has now closed out his first winning season since 2021 with the Green Bay Packers. It was also the last time Rodgers was on a team that advanced to the playoffs.

With Sunday’s win, the Steelers moved a step closer to clinching the AFC North, which would secure Tomlin’s 12th playoff berth and a seventh division crown.

Next up for Tomlin’s crew is a Week 17 game at the Cleveland Browns before the regular season finale against the second-ranked Baltimore Ravens.
