Following Steeler’s decision to send Fitzpatrick, another All-PRO, away in business that equalized the cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Jonna Smith, some opposing chief executives may have been excited to smell and see if Watt could also be available.
This is not the case, nor should it be – Pittsburgh has stacked the roster with elders differential manufacturers, clearly that the team can finally make a deep play -off game behind new team manager Aaron Rodgers after many years of broadcast after the season.
There is really no way that Steelers 2025 can become a better player by performing talent like Watt, but his other world gifts are also the reason he is looking for more money now.
Watt is the defender of the year in AP, which through eight seasons in black and gold has collected incredible 108 sacks, 225 QB strokes and 33 forced fumbles. He is the machine that lets the defense of Pittsburgh go.
With one year left in the extension he signed in 2021, the market has far in excess of Watt’s annual salary, $ 28 million. He now resides behind six other bypasses in the field where Myles Garrett from Brown earns a total of $ 40 million a year.
Steelers and Watt clearly still have some basis for covering together to get to a contract that reflects Edge Rusher’s running ratio, but such a deal is the only result that Pittsburgh plans.
Watt is not following Fitzpatrick out of the door, rather hoping Steelers to greet his many additions in the future, happy and with a new deal.
