Steelers’ Cam Heyward ‘Bummed’ to lose minkah fitzpatrick but excited for Jalen Ramsey’s versatility

Steelers' Cam Heyward 'Bummed' to lose minkah fitzpatrick but excited for Jalen Ramsey's versatility

Ramsey comes with a little worry. He is known as some of the mercury person who has a high price tag, but in order to finally put an end to his eight -year wipe, Steelers need an emotional fire that Ramsey gets to defend.

Heyward is ready to take over Ramsey for who he is because he knows what he could do to their defense.

“Just talking to Jalen so far, Jalen just wants to play the ball. Jalen wants the opportunity to compete at the highest point,” said Heyward. “We are going to do whatever we can to take care of it. We are going to put it in the right circumstances.

“Sometimes coaches run like these situations and say,” Man, this guy can be a headache. ” It doesn’t matter if a guy is a headache, we can still work with a guy and he can be part of it and be a positive contribution.

On paper, Steelers have improved their position. They have added Rodgers, Smith, DK Metcalf receiver, traded occasional headaches in George Pickens, replaced Fitzpatrick for Ramsey and have reason to find encouraged to enter 2025.

One necessary work, however, is not guaranteed to be part of the equation. TJ Watt is entering the final year of his contract and has not yet received the increase in its counterparts has approved elsewhere, which has led to a long -term dispute between Hall of Famer and Club.

Heyward knows how important watts are for Steelers’ potential in 2025 and hopes it will continue.

“Man, it’s my brother. I want this guy to get what he deserves,” Heyward said of Watt. “This guy is one of the cruel and best players in our league and he is respected throughout the league.

With Watt’s negotiating state unresolved, speculation about trading has surprised steam. Heyward, however, refuses to accept such a conclusion.

“I’m going to (Steele’s CEO) Omar (Khan) and I’m telling him,” It’s not happening, “said Heyward. “If there is even a business that gets up there, then I don’t think it helps our team trade with such a guy.”

Pittsburgh has proven this dissatisfaction that it is not afraid to receive telephone and on -site offer. While it could not be logical to trade Watt, it is still a possibility, even if it would conflict with everything else Steelers reached while they are preparing for 2025.

With new faces that fill out a roster that is built to work now, Heyward knows that Steelers need Watt in the board. We will see if it is the closing contract they strike to complete the active Offseason.
