It was a time that Mike Tomlin, Steelers, Mike Tomlin, the longest head coach of the NFL, threw a little shadow earlier this week.
Talking to the media on Monday, Flacco fired it in the second starting team this year against Pittsburgh with his other team.
“I heard that he was talking only about it, the fact that I’m on Bengals,” Flacco said, on Dave Clark, Cincinnati’s player. “I don’t know. I didn’t see it. I didn’t get to see how upset he was. But I think he’s probably just playing the game a little bit and doing whatever he has to do.”
With Flacco after playing 11 seasons for Ravens and spending time with Browns and Bengals, he is not an unknown Tomlin, who is at his 19Th year as Steelers head coach.
“See how stable they have been for the past 20 years,” Flacco said. “I mean how long has he been there now? Twenty years or longer? They are always physical. I think they have found out who they wanted to be as a team early and they have continued to build their team based on it. And that’s why they always have a chance.”
Likewise, Rodgers, Val in the first round of 2005, is a fan of Flacco, the first selection in the first round. Although they are both a little long in the tooth where it is related to the table, their long arms seem to be in the repertoire.
“I’ve just always enjoyed watching him throw the ball,” Rodgers said of Flacco. “He has one of the most beautiful balls. Tight spiral. Deep balls thrower. He is one of the old school, 2000, ’90s prototypes team leaders.
“When I was coming into the game, it was the big boys who had their big arms. Now you see some really athletes who play the situation.
It is almost certain Rodgers and Flacco will not step up a storm on Thursday, but the youngsters can still swallow it. They will aim to do just that while they continue to stiffen the father’s arm time and keep these glory days away from passing them.
