Saints Wr Chris Olave 'Don't worry' after 'unlucky' concussion

Chris Olave, the New Orleans Saints receiver, missed nine games in 2024 and played fewer than 10 snapshots in two others after suffering two concussion.

Concussion on November 3 caused him to miss the last eight games. He returned to the practice range in December but never participated in a game to close the campaign.

“It was difficult, a man at first; I never really sat for so long,” Olave said through the Associated Press. “It was really my first major injury. … just being able to go and practice and go to a meeting with my boys was the worst part, but I feel like I’m ready. I was practicing and lifting and all in December. So, I feel like I’m good.”

Olave’s first two seasons were impressive, returning 1,000 plus meters in each campaign and proved Elite guidance. However, he has suffered at least four known concussions in his three periods – one in 2022 and one in 2023 for two last year. He consulted with experts after the latest head injury.

“They said I was fine again in December when they cleaned me. These were just unlucky situations I was put in,” Olave said. “God has got me at the end of the day. I don’t worry about nothing. So just have to go there 100% and be ready.”

Olave’s injury story, along with Saints’ circumstances, has led to the discussion of trading rumors. He has two years left of his newcomeer after New Orleans applied for $ 15,493 million the fifth year option for 2026.

Olave laughed at the business receivable.

“These are all rumors, man,” Olave said. “In Offseason, everyone is trying to have something for clicks. So, I love it here. I love the head office. I love my coach. I am excited to be here and want to be here forever.”
