Returning Raiders DE Maxx Crosby delivers an emphatic post: "I'm back. Run it." [expletive].'

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday morning that Crosby had returned to Las Vegas with the intention of moving on and playing for the Raiders. One might guess Wednesday night’s message suggests just that, but after an unprecedented 24-hour whirlwind, one can only wonder what exactly Crosby means and what exactly is next for him and the Raiders.

Crosby remains a member of the Raiders roster, under contract through 2027, that much is certain.

It was announced that he had been sold to the Ravens on Friday. Although the trade could not become official until Wednesday of the new league year, Crosby had already spoken to the team’s website for an interview and offered the Raiders — the only other NFL franchise he has technically been a member of.

On Tuesday night, social media erupted and the NFL news circuit quickly followed suit when the Raiders released a direct and brief statement that read: “The Baltimore Ravens have withdrawn from our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We will have no further comment at this time.”

By Wednesday morning, the Ravens had agreed to terms with offensive lineman Trey Hendrickson, and Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta held a contrite news conference Wednesday night, saying he had no regrets about how things turned out, but that he had to do what was best for the Ravens.

Following the Raiders’ announcement, NFL Network Insider’s Mike Garafolo reported that the reasoning behind the Ravens’ cancellation was medical. Crosby had offseason surgery to repair his meniscus, but Rapoport reported on Feb. 8 that the five-time Pro Bowler was not expected to be cleared for the start of the new league year, making the Ravens’ decision even more surprising given all the information known beforehand.

DeCosta never went into any specifics about Crosby’s injury or the exact reasoning behind Baltimore’s rejection of the trade.

From Las Vegas to Baltimore and back, Crosby has been on a roller coaster with wings. After being unhappy that the Raiders shut him down and placed him on injured reserve to end the 2025 campaign, Crosby’s latest sentiments suggest he’s all about returning to Las Vegas with a vengeance.
