Ravens wide receiver Trey Hendrickson says he expected to be Maxx Crosby’s teammate in Baltimore

Ravens wide receiver Trey Hendrickson says he expected to be Maxx Crosby's teammate in Baltimore

Instead of being thrilled about his new partnership with Crosby, Hendrickson ended up representing a bit of a consolation prize in Baltimore, as the Ravens pulled out of the Crosby trade due to concerns about Crosby’s long-term health and turned to showcasing Hendrickson as their main offseason prize. That’s all in the past now, though, and Hendrickson is looking ahead to what he believes will be a great opportunity in Baltimore, where Hendrickson believes he’ll have his best chance to reach the Super Bowl since he did it with the Bengals in the 2021 season.

“Looking back, maybe I’ll be more appreciative of how special the team was. But right now, I’m looking for one thing and that’s to win it all,” Hendrickson said. “I’m incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to represent organizations that have done that. I’m excited to be a part of something that’s a possibility. When you’re talking about an 8. (Lamar Jackson) throwing the ball around, like you know it’s a quarterback-driven league. Sean Payton talked about that when I was a rookie on the team, but it could be seven or 2 rookies in New Orleans (in 3 or 2 rookies). that can win anything and we got one of them.”

Hendrickson entered a Ravens defense that undoubtedly needed reinforcements up front. Baltimore still has personnel questions to answer before the season begins — including along the defensive interior — but Hendrickson should solve one of its biggest needs. If he can play a full season, he’ll likely crack double-digit sacks and make the difference the Ravens desperately needed in 2025.

We’ll see if that leads to the glory Hendrickson is after.
