Rams sign HC Sean McVay, GM Les Snead to multi-year contract extension

Rams sign HC Sean McVay, GM Les Snead to multi-year contract extension

The Los Angeles Rams announced Monday that head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead have signed multi-year contract extensions.

One of the most well-planned head coach-GM marriages in recent years, McVay and Snead both signed contracts in 2022 that kept them in through the 2026 season.

The Rams went 12-5 last season and made the playoffs, winning two games to reach the NFC Championship game before losing to the Super Bowl-bound Seattle Seahawks.

Since being hired as one of the youngest head coaches in league history in 2017, McVay – who turned 40 last week – has compiled a record of 92-57 (.617 winning percentage). The Rams have made the postseason in seven of his nine seasons at the helm, posting a 10-6 playoff record and two Super Bowl appearances in that span, including a Super Bowl LVI win over the Bengals to close out the 2021 NFL season.

“It means a lot,” McVay said Monday of the extension alongside Snead. “I’m just very thankful. I’m thankful for our players and coaches because those opportunities don’t happen if you’re not around great people.

“It’s ownership, it’s other guys in the leadership group, it’s players, it’s coaches and they deserve a lot of credit. I’m excited to continue building with them moving forward.”
