Crosby began to start in 2024 despite playing through the ankle disease for most of the season, missing only one game in the first 14 weeks and led Raiders in the sacks and team manager. But after increasing the injury, things changed, which eventually led to Crosby closed with four games after he could go into surgery.
He finished with 12 games that were played, 7.5 sacks, 45 tackles and 20 Hits team leader, all of whom were his worst numbers since his second season in 2020.
“Last year was certainly one of the most difficult years of my life in general – so many things going on, fighting injuries, I can’t be sometimes, I felt like,” said Crosby. “There are no excuses. It’s just hard. It’s part of the game, and that’s what comes with it. And it’s the first time in the career that I felt like, like week 2 I’m on a pop tire, and it’s just that I’m doing everything I’m just trying to go there and help my teammates,
Since the end of the season, Crosby has been working back from the operation, but the recovery does not shake the agency’s confidence in the star defense, as Crosby was rewarded in March with a three -year, $ 106.5 million extension that reset the market for the team and at that time he did not make the highest salary.
Now, with a healing ankle and an extension in a hand that keeps him in Vegas through the 2029 season, Crosby is ready to get back to the stadium. But he is not the only defender the fans of Bata Raiders want to watch.
What was supposed to be a dangerous defense front was injured in 2024 even beyond Crosby. Defense Christian Wilkins broke his foot for 5 this week, but the proposed Crosby partner at The Edge, Malcolm Koon, missed the entire season with a knee injury.
This trio, which had a total of 31.5 sacks in 2023, ended by spending a total of 34 games on the bench with a total of 9.5 sacks in 2024, of which 7.5 from Crosby.
Without their contribution, the Raiders ended the defense in 25th place in points that were allowed and tied to 21. Seats with 38, a reduction from its ranking before where the unit tied 13th place with 46 sacks.
According to Pete Carroll’s coach, at this point in offseason crosby is healthy of the squad. He described Crosby as “full speed” while Wilkins is still working on his recovery and will need more time and Koonce is still not practicing yet.
Raiders will hope that all three can be healthy at the beginning of the season and immediately raised the team’s defense in the first year of Carroll with the control.
But for a while, Crosby is just excited to be back in playing the sport he loves and is ready to continue from the time missed and looking ahead to get back from the team – and his own – distress last season.
“I feel like everything happens for a reason, I feel like I’m going to look back years and it will make sense,” Crosby said. “It’s just amazing to be out there with my teammates, just being able to be yourself, don’t hesitate with any type of haircut, just cut it loose. It’s the best feeling on earth, I have so much fun here, just to be 100 percent and no hesitation.”
