What new coach Mike Vrabbel wants in New England is what Maye and Co. Have heard a lot of when the club started its schedule this week.
“This has been great with a coach; he has come here and it seems he has been here for a while,” Maye said of Vrabbel. “He is so happy to be a head coach. He has done it before; he has done it at a high level and won a lot of games. So look forward to getting things started. You can see that he tries to set up the new self -image. I think we’re building up towards it, working and trusting his way.”
Maye was the silver lining of what had been a devastating 4-13 period for Patriots in 2024, which led to Vrabel’s arrival. A newcomer flashed a strong, accurate arm when given time to throw away, but leaks the O-line patriots and a limited wide receiver Corps eventually prevented Maye from showing what he seemed to be able to.
Patriots improved the protection of Maye during this season and signed Garrett Bradbury and Morgan Moses as well as composing Campbell. Wr Stefon Diggs was a splash, which signed the Offseason in Foxborough and Mack Holins was another trustworthy performance to tease Maye’s passing. Patriots also composed Treveyon Henderson in the second round to put a powerful running back next to him.
“I’m pumped. A lot of new faces. Many guys, the ceasefire that played at a high level,” said Maye. “We found answers in many different places. Hopefully we can stick and play and I think that’s what the issue with a free agency is. Get boys who can come here and help us work. Help us work now. Add it with some young talents we’ve had in the past draft, hopefully we’re in the right direction.”
But Josh McDaniels, who was back again England, who had Patriots for all six Super Bowl wins, was perhaps the greatest participation in Vrabel’s vision for the promising Young QB.
Maye said his introduction to McDaniel’s schedule was nothing less than “awesome” early and he is working to fully understand a violation that has seen great results.
“His stuff works, a kind of proof in the pie,” said Maye. “He coached a lot of different boys; he trained the best to do it, so it’s pretty cool to watch the old things Tom (Brady) and see how he does. And a lot of different boys have played at a high level in the break, not just Tom, so it’s been cool to watch and I am looking at it.
