The 49ers offense has dealt with a number of injuries this season, most notably quarterback Brock Purdy and tight end George Kittle, but McCaffrey’s reliable presence has steered the ship.
McCaffrey leads the team in both rushing (849) and receiving yards (806) while also returning the most touchdowns (13) for the Niners. Being without their workhorse RB might not matter so much against a two-win Titans side on Sunday but there is cause for concern if the back injury persists in the finals.
Brian Robinson figures to get more snaps with McCaffrey who is sick or unable to suit up on Sunday. He is averaging 4.6 yards per carry in his role as the No. 2 backfield option.
With or without CMC, the 49ers (9-4) aim to stay in the middle of a heated NFC West battle on Sunday when they face the visiting Titans (2-11).
