Brock Purdy is still working back from prolonged shoulder and teeth.
The 49ers team manager is officially questionable for his match in week 3 against Arizona Cardinals but is “very unlikely” to start, said head coach Kyle Shanahan to reporters on Friday.
Shanahan added that Purdy, which has been restricted in practice, could be in a uniform as a copy of the team manager or served as an emergency QB depending on how he looks on Saturday.
By Purdy walking but does not seem to be planning to play unless Sunday’s absolute need, Mac Jones should start again for Kyle Shanhan’s offense. Jones finished 26 out of 39 pedestrians in 279 meters and three contact surfaces in Niners’ Week 2 victory.
