Will the Jays find a worthy successor? Shi Davidi of Sportsnet says the club will hunt for someone to inherit Bell’s responsibilities, which spanned roster moves and oversight of development and performance units.
Toronto’s front office still runs under AGMs Joe Sheehan and Michael Murov, reporting to GM Ross Atkins. Vice presidents James Click (strategy) and Jeremy Reesor (operations) also remain on staff.
Bell’s Toronto stint marked his inaugural front‑office job after six seasons managing the Reds, where he guided Cincinnati to a lone playoff berth before being dismissed late in 2024. His résumé also includes roles with the Cubs, Cardinals and Giants. For my money, his varied background should have given him an edge.
Bell arrived just as the Jays rebounded, soaring from a last‑place 2024 to a 94‑win AL East title in 2025 and a World Series run that fell short to the Dodgers. Yet 2026 saw another tumble to the division bottom, hampered by health woes. Can Toronto reverse its fortunes next season?
