The No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Penix has completed 180 of 300 passes (61%) for 1,409 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions in six games.
In the 20-10 loss to the 49ers, Penix threw for 241 yards and a TD and completed 55.3% of his passes as he often looked uncomfortable in the pocket and was 0-for-9 under pressure, according to Next Gen Stats.
Although Penix will be facing a struggling Dolphins team, Miami’s 33.6% pressure percentage on the season is higher than the 49ers’ 26.7. So, the second-year QB is likely to have a chance to show a better game under fire if he were active.
The Falcons (3-3) open against the Dolphins (1-6) at 1:00 PM ET Sunday.
