Defender Fikayo Tomori had to leave the field injured against Bologna, raising the Rossoneri’s anxiety ahead of Saturday’s Inter derby.
Tomori started the Serie A clash with Bologna but suffered a suspected thigh problem in the first half, playing until halftime before being withdrawn.
Milan eventually fell 4-2 to the Rossoblu, and Tomori’s setback adds another layer of concern before the Inter showdown.
In a DAZN interview, coach Ruben Amorim admitted Tomori may have a ‘problem’ that will be evaluated tomorrow. For my money, Tomori’s loss could force Milan to reshuffle their defence.
The squad already missed eight players versus Bologna, including starters Mario Gila, Adrien Rabiot, Samuel Chukwueze and new signing Diego Moreira.
It’s still uncertain if any of those absentees will be fit for the next game.
‘Tomorrow we’ll assess and decide who’s available,’ Amorim told the post‑match press conference, according to Milannews.
‘I won’t dwell on the unavailable players; we must adapt. I’ll review the list tomorrow – maybe one or two could return, and we might take a gamble.’
The 4-2 defeat marks Milan’s first league loss this season and their third setback in 12 matches across all competitions. Can Milan regroup in time for the derby?
