Bologna grabbed their first league win thanks to a scissor‑kick volley from Riccardo Orsolini and a late goal by Jay Enem, though Lecce pressed hard for a reply.
It was already a relegation battle, yet the Rossoblu entered winless. Palladino, who drew 1‑1 with Torino on debut after replacing Tedesco, finally showed his tactical acumen, though his side missed Samuel Mbangula, Jens Odgaard and long‑absent Emil Holm. Matteo Darmian, a free‑agent signing, started immediately.
Lecce’s earlier victories over Venezia and Monza were dampened by injuries to Nikola Stulic and Medon Berisha, while Willem Geubbels and Paco Esteban remained less than fully fit.
See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.
Nicolò Cambiaghi’s early angled finish drifted wide, but Bologna responded spectacularly as Orsolini unleashed an acrobatic scissor‑kick volley from seven yards after a left‑side cross.
Nadir Zortea’s low drive was smothered by Wladimiro Falcone, and Ivan Ilic left the field injured after 36 minutes.
Juan Miranda’s decisive interception stopped Esteban’s run on Coulibaly’s through ball, then he nearly scored himself, forcing Falcone into a tricky near‑post save.
Controversy erupted after the restart when Paco Esteban was brought down by goalkeeper Matteo Pessina, yet the referee awarded a free‑kick for Esteban’s earlier push on Nicolò Casale.
Orsolini arrived too late to meet Cambiaghi’s rolling cross from the left, and his corner was flicked on by Casale past Tommaso Pobega at the back post.
Konan N’Dri capitalised on a Miranda slip but was blocked by Casale at the near post, and moments later Lecce restored parity.
Young keeper Massimo Pessina rushed out to claim a Danilo Veiga ball, not noticing Amar Fatah hovering to head into an empty net from 12 yards.
Pessina sent Omar Ngom’s free‑kick over the bar, while the Bologna keeper nearly mishandled another cross before Helland cleared it.
Falcone’s experience shone as he rushed off his line to swat Zortea’s long ball from Orsolini’s feet, yet Bologna managed to regain the lead.
Orsolini’s diagonal pass found Cambiaghi on the left, who rolled forward and Jay Enem flicked it in with his right foot from five yards for his first Serie A goal.
Bologna were reduced to ten men in the 84th minute after using all substitutes when Orsolini limped off with a fresh muscle injury.
Lecce surged forward; Pessina leapt to punch Coulibaly’s header out of the top corner from a Konan N’Dri cross, then flailed on another cross for Geubbels to nod over.
Orsolini 17 (B), Fatah 64 (L), Enem 75 (B)
