Nikola Krstovic celebrates his third goal with teammates at Bergamo’s Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia on Oct 12, 2026.

Atalanta halted a three‑match losing streak when Krstovic’s brace and Kessie’s strike put them 3‑0 up within 30 minutes, while Venezia struck the woodwork twice, lost a goal to VAR and saw Elmas sent off.

Sarri, refusing to use time as an excuse, switched to a 4‑2‑3‑1 with De Ketelaere supporting Krstovic. Scamacca, Bernasconi and Kolasinac began on the bench. Bottom‑placed Venezia entered winless after five games, yet Stroppa kept his role and welcomed back Basic. In my view, Sarri finally found the right formula.

Basic threatened early, but Carnesecchi produced a superb stop, and Atalanta seized the chance. Krstovic threaded a pass to Kessie, who lobbed Stankovic from the box.

Two minutes later Krstovic rose from a corner and headed into the far post for the second.

Venezia lost Correia to injury, and Stankovic stretched to deny De Ketelaere. Carnesecchi again brushed aside Rowe’s low effort, but Krstovic reacted to the rebound for his third.

Before halftime, substitute Sagrado whipped in a cross, and Hainaut burst forward to finish close‑range.

Atalanta 3‑1 Venezia

Venezia press in vain as Elmas receives a late red for Atalanta

The visitors surged after the break. Adams headed onto the bar, Yeboah rattled the post, while Stankovic saved another Krstovic attempt.

Adams thought he had equalised in the 61st, but VAR ruled him offside. Carnesecchi then denied Yeboah after a dazzling run.

Stankovic produced the match‑saving stop from Elmas’s snap, and Adams’ header drifted wide as Venezia searched for a lifeline.

Late drama unfolded as Elmas received a second yellow for a reckless challenge; the referee consulted the monitor and upgraded it to a straight red, leaving Atalanta to finish with ten men.

Atalanta triumph 3‑1 over Venezia. Can Atalanta keep this momentum into their next clash?

Kessie 4 (A), Krstovic 6, 30 (A), Hainaut 37 (V)
