Real Madrid must turn the tide. After a derby loss before the international break, the Merengues return to the Bernabeu hungry for a win. Yet Villarreal arrives confident, fresh from a convincing 3‑1 triumph over Levante, ready to exploit Madrid’s doubts. Below are all the details to catch the clash live.
The showdown takes place Saturday, 10 October at 21:00 CET at the Santiago Bernabeu. DAZN and Disney+ will stream it live. Don’t miss this blockbuster.
Real Madrid vs Villarreal: Merengues at a crossroads
The international pause didn’t erase the sting of the 2‑1 derby defeat to Atlético Madrid, where Madrid held just 35 % possession and saw Dean Huijsen sent off in the 52nd minute, a suspension that kept him out of this game. Antonio Rüdiger’s late goal in the 89th minute was the only consolation. Off the pitch, headlines have swirled around Kylian Mbappé after José Mourinho’s sharp rebuke about his travel during the break, while the French striker continues his recovery from a minor injury suffered in late September. Meanwhile Villarreal arrives in Madrid with confidence: ninth place with eight points, fresh from a 3‑1 win over Levante, courtesy of goals from Ayoze Pérez (41′), Alberto Moleiro (54′) and Georges Mikautadze (86′). Their momentum could prove dangerous for a Madrid side still finding its rhythm. In my view, Madrid’s defensive lapses could cost them dearly.
