? Can Lyon bounce back after that Hoffenheim drubbing? The French side heads to the Basque coast, ready to face Real Sociedad in the Europa League. After a heavy loss, they must quickly lift their heads. Below is everything you need to watch the match live.
The Real Sociedad‑Lyon showdown kicks off on Thursday, 5 November, at 18:45. Canal+ Foot will broadcast it live and exclusively as the competition’s official partner.
Lyon Under Pressure in the Basque Clash
Sociedad arrive on a roll, having crushed Lillestrom 6‑0 in their last European outing. Sergio Gomez netted twice (25’, 27’), Luka Sucic also scored a brace (33’, 72’), while Orri Oskarsson (64’) and Arsen Zakharyan (80’) added goals. The Spaniards aim to keep the momentum and test Lyon’s defence. Lyon sit twelfth in the Europa League with six points from two wins over Anderlecht and Crystal Palace and one defeat. Their 3‑0 loss at Hoffenheim, despite 56% possession, highlighted struggles on both ends. The French club must raise its level to chase three points in the Basque region.
Will Lyon turn the tide on Spanish soil?
Kick‑off is set for Thursday 5 November at 18:45, streamed exclusively on Canal+ Foot. To catch the action you’ll need a Canal+ Sport package – €29.99/month for the first year, then €39.99, with a two‑year commitment. This subscription unlocks all European competitions, the Premier League, Top 14 and even Formula 1. In my view, Lyon must treat this fixture as a turning point.
