The 2026 Copa Sudamericana final, set for Saturday Nov 21 in Barranquilla, is turning into a pricey outing for supporters hoping to see their clubs chase glory. Sky‑high airfare is squeezing travel plans for fans from Argentina, Brazil and even Colombian loyalists eager to watch the showdown on home soil.
The squeeze isn’t limited to Atlético Mineiro and Boca Juniors fans, the two sides highlighted in the preview. Local supporters planning trips from other Colombian regions also face steeply higher fares to the Atlantic coast capital.
Will rising travel costs force a drop in attendance for the 2026 Sudamericana final?
Domestic trips from Bogotá, Medellín or Cali have jumped up to 600,000 pesos each way, meaning round‑trip tickets alone can drain a sizable chunk of a fan’s budget, before hotels, meals and city transport are even considered.
Argentine travelers see the nightmare worsen, with routes from Buenos Aires to Barranquilla topping $1,300 and often requiring two stops. A faster option via Santiago and Bogotá cuts travel time to 14 hours 5 minutes but carries a $1,426 price tag. In my view, these costs will keep many fans on the sidelines.
Brazilian fans aren’t spared; journeys from Belo Horizonte may need up to two connections and prices shift with route and seat availability, pushing the total spend well beyond the base fare.
Crucially, all figures quoted cover transport only. Ticket prices for the final remain unannounced, adding another layer of expense once they’re released.
Thus the continental climax is already feeling heavy in supporters’ wallets. Argentinians, Brazilians and Colombians will have to crunch numbers to decide whether they can join the Nov 21 spectacle, which promises crowds but also a hefty outlay.
